Birch Forest Park is a conceptual project that proposes a public recreational space that captures the spirit of meandering and immersing oneself in a birch woodland. It conceptualizes decaying reservoir infrastructure as a 10-acre park for the residential neighborhood of Brookline, Massachusetts.
The embankments are graded evenly to create a walkable site with an open bowl in the center. Red osier dogwoods amongst the birches demarcate the palimpsest of the historic reservoir landscape. It's a seasonal destination that connects visitors with a forgotten history through a simple vegetation strategy.
