Nestled in the folds of Sonoma Valley, this one-acre garden offers a pastoral escape from the weight of city life.

A large swimming pool anchors the heart of the site, collecting light and shadow into a calm, unhurried reflection of its surroundings.

Boulders peek through the hardscape like exposed geologic fragments, echoing nearby rocky outcrops and grounding the space with a sense of permanence.
Layered drifts of drought-tolerant deergrass and flowering sage ease the transition between the structure and landscape, punctuated by aloe and opuntia.

At the front entrance, the pavers resume a more organized rhythm amongst meandering plantings and an array of olive trees.

Gathering spaces are woven throughout the landscape: a cozy nook for soaking in the last of the day’s light, a redwood bench tucked beneath an olive tree, a place to lounge by the fire. Together, these moments invite a slower tempo of inhabitation, encouraging visitors to linger as day gradually gives way to evening.

Our deepest thanks to our wonderful clients Morgan and Max for coming on this landscape journey with us.
